Four local realtors joined Campaign Co-chair Martin Ritsma at the campaign thermometer in Stratford to celebrate the annual campaign achieving 50 per cent of the annual goal.
“It’s an incredible milestone,” said United Way Campaign Co-chair Martin Ritsma. “This lightbulb represents the generosity and spirit of our donors. Whether it’s individuals giving the same or a little more than last year, or workplace campaigns going ahead despite the challenges some have faced during the pandemic, people are showing how committed they are to helping vulnerable people during challenging times.”
“As realtors we want to help build the places we live and work in,” added Stratford realtor June Leitch. “Realtors Care Week shines a light on important issues like homelessness and what we as realtors can do to help. We believe in the work United Way does locally and by supporting them, we know we’re helping so many in the community.”
Realtors Care Week is a national week of volunteer service for realtors and a time to raise awareness about housing and shelter-related issues. This year, a group of Perth-Huron realtors raised $6,675 for the United Way annual campaign.
United Way continues building momentum through special projects and events. Among the events the organization is involved with is the 12 Days of Giving online auction; featuring arts and crafts, staycations, tech toys and more. The auction runs until 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 12. To learn more, GO HERE.
