GM BluePlan Engineering certifies as Living Wage Employer

GM BluePlan Engineering is the latest North Perth organization to invest in the well-being of the community by certifying as a living wage employer.

“At GM BluePlan we believe that everyone deserves to earn a livable wage,” said Branch Manager and Partner, Matt Ash. “We are committed to providing our employees with opportunities to excel and to build a better life for them and their families.”

“We’d like to thank GM BluePlan for committing to building an even stronger North Perth by certifying as a living wage employer,” added United Way Perth-Huron Executive Director Ryan Erb. “We hope their certification inspires other businesses to join the movement to improve the well-being of the local workforce.”

Based on a 35-hour work week, the Perth-Huron living wage is calculated regularly using local data and takes into account the living expenses of a weighted average of family types including a family of four, a single mother supporting a seven-year-old child and a single adult, once government transfers and deductions are factored in. Everyday expenses in the calculation include housing, food, utilities, childcare and transportation. For more information about Perth-Huron’s living wage, GO HERE.
