The Bruce Hotel is known for their high quality service, attention to detail and passion for going above and beyond for their guests. The Bruce is also committed to going above and beyond for their employees and has demonstrated this commitment by certifying as a living wage employer.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the Ontario Living Wage Network,” said Jennifer Belanger, General Manager of The Bruce Hotel. “The success of our company is based on how valued our employees feel. The Bruce Hotel is committed to creating a culture where the team feels heard, seen and compensated in a way that provides them an enriching quality of life.”
“We are happy to announce The Bruce Hotel’s living wage certification,” added United Way Perth-Huron Executive Director Ryan Erb. “Their commitment to the well-being of their employees and the health of the community shows leadership in helping the local tourism sector start building back better.”
Based on a 35-hour work week, the Perth-Huron living wage is calculated regularly using local data and takes into account the living expenses of a weighted average of family types including a family of four, a single mother supporting a seven-year-old child and a single adult, once government transfers and deductions are factored in. Everyday expenses in the calculation include housing, food, utilities, childcare and transportation. For more information about Perth-Huron’s living wage, GO HERE.
