Camp-Out RV is the latest business showing a commitment to creating positive change locally by becoming a Living Wage Employer in the Champion category.
“We believe everyone deserves to make a livable wage, it’s pretty simple. The cost of living is constantly increasing and the standard minimum wage doesn’t always have time to catch up,” says Bri Parks, HR Manager for Camp-Out RV. “Also, just living in different parts of the province will obviously greatly impact your cost of living. We really just want to take every measure we can to ensure that our staff can sustain a happy lifestyle, however that looks for them.”
Calculated annually by the United Way Perth-Huron’s Social Research and Planning Council (SRPC), the Living Wage is determined based on the living expenses of a family of four with both adults working full-time for 35 hours a week, once government transfers and deductions are taken into account. Everyday expenses included in the calculation are food, housing, utilities, childcare and transportation. Perth-Huron’s Living Wage is currently $17.55 per hour. Find more information HERE.
