United Way’s St. Marys and Area Community Committee invites everyone to the St. Marys Community Hoedown on Wednesday, September 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the St. Marys Golf and Country Club.
“We are proud to call St. Marys home and wanted to invite everyone to put on their best country-themed outfits and come celebrate our vibrant community,” said Rob Edney, St. Marys and Area Community Committee co-chair and event organizer. “Our committee also wanted a chance to talk about how we can continue working together to strengthen St. Marys through United Way and its local supported partners and programs, including the NOURISH Equal Access Food Market and the St. Marys Community Developer and Support Worker.”
Hosted by Joanie and Claire Chapple from The Yoga Chapple, the St. Marys Community Hoedown is an opportunity for locals to kick up their heels with a BBQ buffet, line dancing — with lessons courtesy of Shirley Davis — a silent auction, cornhole, and other fun games with prizes highlighting the needs of vulnerable people in the community. Guest speaker Brent Kittmer will speak about creating a stronger, more resilient community.
Tickets are $45 each. To purchase, call the United Way offices at 519-271-7730 or email reception@perthhuron.unitedway.ca.
The St. Marys Community Hoedown is proudly sponsored by Cascades Containerboard Packaging – St. Marys, Tremblett’s Your Independent Grocer St. Marys, the St. Marys Golf and Country Club and the Yoga Chapple.
