Media Release: Savouring the Flavours and Spirit of Huron County

Come for the recipes, stay for the heart and discover the abundance that grows when a community comes together.

United Way Perth-Huron invites the community to the official launch of the Abundance: Savouring the Flavours and Spirit of Huron County cookbook on Sunday, Nov. 9, from noon to 2 p.m. at Brussels Four Winds Barn.

Abundance is more than a cookbook — it’s a celebration of community, creativity and comfort. Inside, readers will discover elevated comfort food recipes from local chefs, heartfelt stories from farmers, brewers, vintners and beekeepers and artwork by Huron County artists. From maple syrup groves to sun-drenched flower fields, every page invites readers to experience the richness of this vibrant region.

“Our producers are multi-generational, farming on the same ground their great-grandparents farmed, alongside new entrepreneurs bringing innovation and skill,” said Michelle Millar, United Way Manager Community Development, Mid-Huron. “Whether you’re a curious visitor or a proud local, Abundance is a love letter to the land and the people who nourish it.”

100 per cent of profits support United Way’s work addressing food and housing security in Huron County.

Live music at the book launch is by Matt Hussey. Attendees can also sample some of the featured recipes, meet local producers profiled in the cookbook and have the first opportunity to purchase copies of Abundance, which sells for $55. For a link to buy event tickets, GO HERE.

Following the launch, remaining copies of the Abundance cookbook will be available at select locations across Huron County as well as at the United Way offices in Stratford. For more information and updates, follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Vendors in attendance include Cait’s Café, Cornerfield Wine Co., Cowbell Brewing Co., Part II Bistro, White Squirrel Golf Club, Robinson’s Maple Products and The Whole Pig.

United Way would like to thank Huron County Economic Development, title sponsor of Abundance, as well as co-host of the book launch event. We appreciate their work supporting and promoting the richness of Huron County and involved businesses and producers.
