Help open the doors of the Goderich Connection Centre!
United Way Perth-Huron is working with local partners to turn an identified community need to serve the people in Huron experiencing homelessness into action. By raising funds, mobilizing resources and bringing organizations together, United Way is helping implement a local solution that strengthens supports and fill a critical gap in Goderich.
United Way has applied for a grant from The Commonwell LEAF Initiative, but we need your help!

Vote for the Goderich Connection Centre
What is the project about?
The proposed Goderich Connection Centre would provide a welcoming, accessible place for people experiencing homelessness, or at risk of homelessness, to meet basic needs while connecting with supports that can help them move toward permanent housing and greater stability.
The Connection Centre model is client-centred, housing-focused and voluntary. By first addressing immediate needs and building trusted relationships over repeated visits, staff can create opportunities to connect people with housing, health care, mental health services and other community supports.
The proposed Goderich location would bring the Connection Centre and CMHA services together under one roof, reducing barriers, simplifying referrals and making it easier for people to access additional supports as their needs change. This coordinated, wraparound approach means people don’t have to navigate multiple locations and systems on their own.
The Goderich model builds on the demonstrated success of United Way Perth-Huron’s Connection Centres in Stratford, Wingham and Exeter. Like the Stratford and Wingham Centres, it is expected to be operated by CMHA Huron Perth.
