United Way Perth-Huron is proud to celebrate Goderich Super Storage’s donation of $20,000 to the United Way campaign, focusing on the organization’s support of programs associated with the Huron Homelessness Initiative.
“We view “Business as Mission” and therefore intentionally take a portion of the profits generated from Goderich Super Storage to invest in the community where we do business,” said co-owner Doug Kuyvenhoven. “We are called to care for the least, the lost, the lonely. So following Jesus’ lead we felt compelled to give this donation to help those experiencing homelessness in Goderich.”
“We’d like to thank Goderich Super Storage for their generous donation,” said United Way’s Manager Community Development for Goderich and Area, Michelle Millar. “The community has embraced the importance of supporting vulnerable people. We appreciate great local businesses donating to our local work helping ensure important programs and services are available for people when they need them.”
The Huron Homelessness Initiative includes shelter for women and children, shelter supports for youth, emergency shelter during cold months, transitional housing for men and housing support. Last year, over 700 individuals and families were helped by the programs and services included in the Huron Homelessness Initiative.
