Like many regions across Canada, Perth-Huron, is beginning to receive Ukrainians who may live here temporarily or make this region their permanent home. Due to the urgency of the situation, normal channels may not be utilized. As a result, service providers anticipate it may be more difficult to offer support since they may not have direct connections to Ukrainians when they arrive.
Service providers hope to implement an informal ‘no wrong door’ approach. With increased understanding of other services, increased connection, and communication among providers, the experience of Ukrainians can be improved by getting them the help they need more easily through a robust referral system between service providers. It is anticipated that the 211 system can play a significant role.
Service Providers collaborated in a meeting held on Tuesday May 31st from 9am–11am. Below is a recording of this meeting.
