Rethink!
Relearn!
Reconnect!
With loneliness and social isolation on the rise, connection and belonging are increasingly recognized as essential to healthy communities. We must move beyond viewing community only as programs or activities and acknowledge the vital role that people and institutions play in fostering meaningful connections and lasting resilience.
United Way believes that building strong, connected communities is key to facing local challenges including poverty, housing people, and supporting mental health and well-being. We are committed to having the conversations, and building the relationships, to help ensure everyone can feel as though they are truly part of the of the place they call home.
THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for this full-day workshop as we explored the importance of belonging and its current state in the communities of Huron and Perth. Together, we discussed how we can shift our mindsets to prioritize belonging in our activities, programs, and planning.
This event was open to everyone in the community: students, working professionals, new residents, retirees, and anyone else—we were so glad to see you there!
