Volunteers are at the heart of United Way’s work across Perth-Huron

National Volunteer Week is April 27 to May 3 and United Way Perth-Huron wants to celebrate the incredible commitment of the volunteers who bring so much to the organization.

“We’re humbled by the commitment of our volunteers to United Way,” said Executive Director Ryan Erb. “Volunteers make an impact in so many ways. Addressing envelopes. Inspiring colleagues in their workplaces to give. Driving our Board and committees. We appreciate our 600-plus volunteers and all the time they invest in the work we do.”

At the recent Spirit of Community Celebration, United Way took time to recognize the following individuals and organizations from across Perth-Huron with Spirit Awards in appreciation of work they did in their communities last year: Avon Maitland District School Board, Trevor Bazinet, Gerry Bell, Randy Carroll, David Clarke, Dr. Erin and Mike Heisz, Barry Hutton, Cindi Jones, McCann Redi-Mix, Kerry Prober and her team from McDonald’s Stratford and St. Marys, April Selkirk, Eva Sippel, Tom Soltys, Robert Stanton, and Grace Theophilopoulos all displayed love for the places they call home and dedication to our mission, helping ensure vulnerable local people have the chance for a brighter future.

United Way also recognizes Campaign Co-chairs John Wolfe and Kristin Sainsbury for their work this past year. As the organization’s highest profile volunteers, they have been enthusiastic advocates for the organization and helped push us to even greater heights.
