United Way responds to challenges facing local businesses

In light of the challenges facing local companies due to tariffs, United Way Perth-Huron (UWPH) is here to help navigate these uncertain times.

“Our community is facing the potential of very tough times ahead,” said UWPH Executive Director Ryan Erb. “We want local companies to know that, just as they have been there supporting United Way over many years, we’ll be there for them.”

UWPH offers a variety of resources to employees facing slowdowns and layoffs:
• The 211 helpline is available 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week to help people find the local supports and services they need.
• UWPH’s Urgent Needs Fund helps with immediate expenses, including emergency car repairs, groceries, and rent arrears.
• Mental health and well-being are also critical during stressful times and UWPH is committed to helping provide access to important supports and services.

“United Way has always been committed to the well-being of our community,” added Erb. “We stand with local companies and willingly offer our support to help ease the stress. Please let us know if your organization would like more information about local services, or if you would like us to make a presentation or attend staff meetings. Together, we will navigate these challenges and emerge even stronger.”
