United Way Perth-Huron seeks volunteers to join Board of Directors

As part of its ongoing commitment to strong governance and local leadership, United Way Perth-Huron is inviting applications to join its volunteer Board of Directors.

“Board members play a critical role in the success of our organization,” said Ryan Erb, CEO of United Way Perth-Huron. “They bring leadership, accountability and diverse perspectives that help guide our work, ensuring we’re making the greatest possible impact.”

United Way is committed to building a board reflecting the communities it serves. To that end, the organization is looking to include a broader range of perspectives including: people living and/or working in Huron County, people living and/or working in Perth County outside of Stratford, Black or racialized individuals, Indigenous peoples, individuals who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+, and people with lived experience of homelessness or being under housed.

Experience in areas such as labour, agriculture, legal and finance is also an asset.

The board is responsible for ensuring United Way achieves its mission and strategic plan. Board members help guide the organization’s long-term direction and vision, monitor progress on strategic priorities, oversee the organization’s financial health, identify and help mitigate risks, and ensure action is taken on UWPH’s commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
