Part of what makes United Way strong is its committed volunteers working behind the scenes to ensure the organization continues moving forward with serving the communities of Perth-Huron. Now, we are looking to add members to its Community Impact and Allocations Committee.
“As a non-profit, we rely on a strong group of enthusiastic volunteers to help steer the organization,” said UWPH Director Governance and Community Impact Megan Partridge. “As a member of the Community Impact and Allocations Committee, volunteers are really engaging with the community to discover what’s important to them and decide how UWPH as an organization can best support vulnerable people across our region.”
The Community Impact and Allocations Committee reviews and evaluates all funding applications, chooses community investments, ensures funding supports the community through measurement and program evaluation, engages with the community to set local priorities and acts as a liaison with supported partners when needed. Terms are three years and UWPH is particularly looking for members who live and/or work in St. Marys, Perth East, South Perth, West Perth, Bluewater, Central Huron, Howick or Morris-Turnberry. “We are always on the lookout for people who want to make a positive impact locally,” added Partridge. “If you are passionate about where you live and want to make a difference, we encourage you to apply and become part of our work.”
