After a summer season filled with great music in support of two local organizations, Stratford Summer Music and United Way Perth-Huron joined together Thursday to officially celebrate Summer Music’s donation to the United Way annual campaign.
“We appreciate Stratford Summer Music choosing to donate half of proceeds from their MusicBarge program — $1,588 — to United Way’s annual campaign,” said United Way Executive Director, Ryan Erb. “We’d also like to thank the Bayfield Ukelele Society for giving an additional $500 for a total of $2,088. Together, we’re strengthening supports across the region and ensuring help is available when and where residents need it.”
“MusicBarge unites diverse audiences of all ages and backgrounds, making high-quality music accessible to everyone,” said Stratford Summer Music Executive Director, Crystal L. Spicer. “Stratford Summer Music is deeply rooted in the community and committed to giving back through inclusive programming and shared musical experiences.”
Running Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from July 19 to August 11, the MusicBarge offered people an opportunity to enjoy musical performances by a wide range of artists in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
United Way’s annual campaign works to raise funds to help reduce poverty, house people, and support mental health and well-being and more pressing local issues. Supporting over 40 internal and external partners and programs, United Way initiatives include the Stratford Connection Centre, United Housing, the Urgent Needs Fund, mental health supports, research and advocacy.
