2SLGBTQ+ Research Report Coming Soon!
The Social Research and Planning Council is conducting a research project to contribute knowledge about the experiences and needs of 2SLGBTQ+ community members from across Perth-Huron. The information will allow service providers across multiple sectors to better support the 2SLGBTQ+ community and to create a better sense of belonging. SRPC is working with partners to ensure that the broader community understands what actions can be taken to enhance well-being and integration of 2SLGBTQS+ community members and reduce discrimination, as well as create equitable communities and services.
There are three objectives:
- Identify areas of neglected research, as well as areas of past project successes in other regions, through a literature review (Completed May 2024)
- Explore the experiences and needs of 2SLGBTQ+ Perth-Huron community members through surveys, interviews, and focus groups. (June-September 2024)
- Recommend programs and services to community service providers that are specific to the Perth-Huron through community information-sharing. (2025)
Data collection will include needs assessment surveys, focus groups, and interviews. As well, the recommendations will be generated in collaboration with community and analyzed results will be shared with partners and the public. The publication of a final report will provide recommended actions for a range of sectors and organizations in Perth-Huron.
Check back throughout 2025 for research results!
