United Way is proud to celebrate Stop 23 Auto Sales’ $10,000 donation to the Urgent Needs Fund.
“We’d like to thank Stop 23 for their generous gift,” said Lee Anne Andriessen, chair of United Way’s North Perth Community Committee. “We see everywhere that more people are struggling. The Urgent Needs Fund is a lifeline in a time of immediate need, whether that’s for a winter coat, groceries or a car repair so someone can get to work. We appreciate Stop 23 stepping forward and helping with this valuable program.”
“We are proud to support United Way and the Urgent Needs Fund,” said Stop 23 owner, Scott Davidson. “Stop 23 is committed to being active locally and helping create a stronger community. Knowing how the Fund can help people right here, I knew this was an initiative we could really get behind.”
The Urgent Needs Fund is designed to support local residents in a time of crisis with funds for essentials including rent arrears, groceries and car repairs. Dialing the 211 helpline puts a person in touch with a trained 211 navigator who will assess the caller’s needs and search for the right supports. If the Urgent Needs Fund is the best fit, the navigator will help begin the application process. For more information, GO HERE.
211 is a free, confidential service offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year in over 150 languages. When people dial or text 2-1-1, or visit 211Ontario.ca, a trained navigator will talk through a caller’s unique challenges and connect them with the right services. Whether that’s support for individuals struggling with their mental health or substance use, people looking for in-home support for aging parents, food-related needs and more, 211 is here to help.
