United Way Perth-Huron performs many roles in the Perth and Huron Communities as funder, partner, incubator, shared service provider, convener, advocate and researcher. This community impact is only possible thanks to the strong commitment of volunteers in the community. United Way is proud to have had the support of over 600 volunteers in the 2014 annual campaign and will celebrate their dedication at the Spirit of Community Celebration on April 30.
“Volunteers are everything to our organization,” enthused Nelson Couto, VP Resource & Development and Communications. “We are thrilled to recognize our administrative and event volunteers as well as our board, committee and campaign volunteers—not only this week during National Volunteer Week, but in particular at our upcoming event.” “United Way Perth-Huron currently supports 56 programs and 44 partners and its volunteers that make that possible.”
Five Spirit of Community Volunteer Awards will be presented at the inaugural Spirit of Community Celebration on April 30th, as well as other volunteer and donor recognitions. Past events were invitation-only due to capacity restraints, but the new celebration is open to the public and tickets are currently on sale.
The event will take place on Thursday, April 30th from 6-10 pm at the Arden Park Hotel. Tickets are $45 each or $320 for a table of eight, and the proceeds will help to kick-start the 2015 campaign that will launch this September.
