Social Research and Planning Council Announces New Director

The Social Research and Planning Council (SRPC) along with United Way of Perth-Huron is pleased to announce the appointment of Susanna Reid as the new SRPC Director.  Reid brings 13 years of experience at the Huron County Planning and Development Department and a Master’s of Science in Rural Planning and Development, as well as a Bachelor of Environment and Resource Studies.  Reid’s work in the non-profit sector is impressive, serving as board chair on the Maitland Trail Association and Green Communities Canada, and helping found both the Perth County Greenwork$ and Women and Rural Economic Development (WRED).  Ryan Erb, UWPH Executive Director is pleased to welcome the new director, “Susanna’s qualifications and experience are an excellent fit with SRPC”, Erb continued, “Her experience in community planning and research as well as project management and community collaboration positions her well to lead the SRPC in the important ground work they perform for the communities of Perth and Huron”.

Reid is looking forward to her new role, “The Social Research and Planning Council’s leadership is recognized across Huron and Perth Counties for addressing challenges facing communities, and working to making meaningful change happen. I am honoured to join the SRPC team, and am excited about what we will be able to accomplish together.”

The Social Research and Planning Council, is operated by the United Way Perth-Huron. The Council is comprised of volunteer community representatives who are dedicated to the collection, analysis, and distribution of information relating to local social trends.  Research enables the United Way to discover the deep issues that affect both Perth and Huron.  This understanding enables the organization to understand the local need and then mobilize the community, ensuring that time, funding and effort is focused on a researched and proven need.
