Expression of Interest for United Way Impact Funding Grants Open!
It’s a new year, and with the end of the annual campaign in sight, United Way Perth-Huron (UWPH) is looking at another important number; three years. That’s how long UWPH wants to support organizations again.
“This is our second time offering three-year funding and it has been well received,” says Megan Partridge, Director of Community Impact, “Our supported partners are glad to apply only once every three years and have the stability of longer-term funding.”
February 1, 2018, UWPH opens up applications for local organizations to submit expressions of interest (EOI) for Impact Funding Grants, which will be awarded in April 2019. Any charitable or not-for-profit organization that serves Perth and/or Huron Counties are invited to apply.
“We’re very excited to begin this process,” says UWPH Executive Director Ryan Erb, “The people of Perth and Huron have really responded to our campaign this year, so the next step is determining who will become supported partners for our 2018, 2019 and 2020 campaigns. We want all our local organizations to seize the opportunity!”
Impact Funding Grants are intended to support ongoing programs that are part of an organization’s over-arching mission. The organizations must deliver social services in Perth and/or Huron County as well as fulfill community needs based on UWPH’s investment streams; All That Kids Can Be, From Poverty to Possibility, and Building Strong Communities.
Expressions of interest can be submitted to UWPH until Wednesday, February 28 at 5 pm. Submissions will then be reviewed based on eligibility requirements and organizations will be notified whether or not they have been approved to move on to the full application stage. This final stage will be open from April 1 to May 31, 2018. Full applications will be reviewed by the volunteer-based Community Impact and Allocations Committee and final decisions made.
“Our communities have so many great organizations that deliver programs to people in times of need,” says Erb, “We’re looking forward to building a strong partnership with organizations through not only funding, but support and guidance, helping beneficial programs and services reach their full potential in our communities.”
Current supported partners and the programs and services they receive support for are listed at perthhuron.unitedway.ca, where a link to the EOI process under funding, can also be found.
